Zehneria
It includes c. 30 species of the Old-World tropics. Two of these have been collected from Saudi Arabia.
Herbaceous or woody, dioecious or monoecious tendrillar climbers. Tendrils simple. Leaves petiolate, simple, ovate to triangular cordate, unlobed or obscurely to obviously palmate lobed. Flowers small, white to yellowish. Male flowers pedicellate, solitary or several to many in sessile and or pedunculate umbellate or racemose clusters; hypanthium campanulate with minute dentate calyx lobes; corolla very small; stamens (2-) 3 (-4), all 2-thecous; thecae short, arcuate or straight. Female flowers pedicelled, solitary or paired or several to many in racemose to umbelliform, pedunculate or sessile inflorescence; calyx and corolla like those of the male flowers; staminodes 3; ovary subglobose to fusiform; stigmas 2 or 3. Fruits small, globose to fusiform, red, few-to several-seeded berries.
