Perennial herb, prostrate to ascending, much branched at the base, branches pubescent, up to 6 cm long. Leaves grey-green, linear-oblong to elliptic, 3-6 mm long, pubescent, stipules scarious, lanceolate to ovate. Flowers axillary, more or less concealed by the broadly ovate, scarious, silvery bracts. Sepals unequal, 3.5-6 mm long, pubescent. Stamens 5. Fruit achene, 1-seeded
