Glabrous, perennial, much-branched succulent up to 60 cm tall. Young branches herbaceous. Leaves succulent, subterete, cylindrical to rather clavate, up to 15 mm long, obtuse, characteristically tipped with a very fragile bristle. Flowers in axillary 3 Wings of fruiting perianth unequal, membranous. 7-flowered clusters mainly in the upper parts of branches. Perianth-segments thin, elliptic.
Saudi Arabia : Widely distributed in the Kingdom except for the Asir. A very important component of our coastal ranges in the Eastern Province.
Distribution : Egypt, Middle East, Pakistan.
