SUMMARY
♦ Limonium carnosum Kuntze, Revis. Gen. Pl. 2: 395 (1891).
Undershrub, erect, much branched,up to 40 cm tall, lower branches leafy, the scapose leafless with small bracts, mostly worty with foviat-pustular glands. Leaves densely foveolate-pustular, alternate, rather densely arranged linear-spathulate, up to 3mm long, with apex up to 3mm long, tapering to petiole-like basal parts which expand to form membranous-edged amplexicaul base, glabrous. Inflorescence a dense or few-flowered cymes, short pedunculate or sessile, axillary on leafless branches. Flowers pink, with foveolate-pustular bracts, at least at the median region bracteole up to 2mm long. Calyx 3 mm long, pink, glabrous or sparsely pubescent basally along some of the ribs. Corolla purplish red or white 4.5mm long
